Affordable Housing

What makes Unity Park unique is the City's commitment to inclusivity and equitable development. The project also includes the creation of affordable housing on almost nine acres of land, donated by the city, in the Southernside neighborhood.

With guidance from the Southernside residents, the Greenville Housing Fund and the City have mapped out a plan for the surrounding streets - one that envisions a vibrant, sustainable and complementary mixed-income neighborhood that is reflective of the entire community.

Additionally, private developers have projects underway - many with an affordable housing component.

MHK Architecture & Planning has proposed a mixed use project that would include 70 housing units. The proposal shows 20 percent of the units would be designated as affordable housing. The Design and Review Board is considering the proposal on October 13. The development would be located at the intersection of Mayberry Street and Delano Drive.
