Spring into action!

Take a glance at our spring activities guide and try one of our exciting recreation programs. We offer a wide variety of programs for children, adults, and families.

 
Super Summer Day Camp Logo

Super Summer Day Camp

Help your child create lasting memories this summer! Super Summer Day Camp registration opens on March 14. This 9-week program runs June 10 through August 9 and is offered at each of our five community centers from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily. Campers will learn, play, and grow all summer long while creating new friendships along the way. Spots fill up quickly, so don't hesitate!

 

Youth Programs (ages 3-14)

Instructional Soccer (March 9-April 30)
Our co-ed instructional soccer program provides skill instruction and games for ages 3-5. Practices and non-competitive games are held at Holmes Park on Tuesday evenings or Saturday mornings. Sign up for the U4 program (parent/child) or the U6 program. Recreational Soccer (March 11-May 2)
Register today to secure your child's spot. For ages 6-10, this co-ed program offers a competitive, organized, and fun soccer experience. U8 and U10 divisions are available. Call our Athletics Division at 864-467-8011 for more information.

Fly Fishing Skills at Legacy Park (February 23 - June 1)
Grab your little fishing buddy and join us on Saturday mornings from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. to learn basic casting techniques, essential knot tying, fly selection, and much more. This parent/child class is for kids ages 4-17. Equipment will be provided; hooks are not allowed in the park.

Spring Break Camp (April 15-April 19)
Looking for a safe, organized, and exciting camp for your children while they're out of school? Then look no further! Campers ages 5-12 will spend their fun-filled days engaged in games, crafts, field trips, and other exciting activities. Camp runs from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 7:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Friday.

2nd Annual Easter Eggstravaganza
Mark your calendars for our 2nd annual community Easter egg hunt. Friday, April 19 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. This event will be held at Gower Park and is free for the general public. All children ages 2-12 years old are welcome to participate. Games, music, tons of eggs, and of course, the Easter Bunny will be hopping around.

WellCare Senior Prom

Friday, May 17; 6:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m.
Tickets go on sale March 1!
Enjoy an elegant evening of dinner, dancing, and fellowship at the Greenville Convention Center.
Early Bird pricing: $25 per ticket (March 1 -March 18)
General Admission: $30 per ticket (March 19-May 10)

Adult Programs

Fitness Boot Camp
Get in shape "boot camp" style! Designed for all fitness levels, this program focuses on muscular strength, flexibility, and endurance. Participants perform exercises individually and as teams. Classes begin March 5 and are held Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 5:30 a.m. to 6:30 a.m. at McPherson Park.

Language Lessons
Looking to learn a new language this year? We have an extensive selection of beginner language lessons to choose from. Each 8-week class starts from scratch and builds on vocabulary so that participants can communicate on a basic level. There are no tests, no credits, just learning! Spanish 1 & 2, French 1 & 2, American Sign Language 1 & 2, and English as a Second Language. Please call 864-467-4327 for more information.

Active Adults Senior Program
For men and women age 55+. From field trips to craft days and so much more, you won't want to miss out on the fun and fellowship that this program offers. Meets Monday through Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the David Hellams Community Center.

Adult Softball Leagues
Register your team today! Multiple leagues are available, including Men's Church, Co-ed Recreation, and Men's Recreation. The season begins the week of March 19 and all games will be played at Gower Park.

Community Dance Programs
Downtown Line Dance: Tuesdays; 6:15 p.m. at Sears Recreation Center
Greenville Swing: Tuesdays; 7:30 p.m. at McPherson Log Cabin
Greenville Lindy Hop: Thursdays; 7 p.m. at Sears Recreation Center
Greenville International Folk Dance: Mondays; 7 p.m. at Sears Recreation Center
Casual Dance: Wednesdays; 7:15 p.m. at Sears Recreation Center

Senior Softball
For men and women age 55+. Join us on Tuesday mornings at 10 a.m. at Cleveland Park to meet new people, get some exercise, and most importantly, have fun!

Strong Mamas Fitness
This unique workout group is geared toward women, including moms, who want to stay fit and connect with other women. The class allows participants to engage with their kids by teaching them how much fun it is to exercise and stay healthy. The workout group is also accompanied by play dates, themed classes, and moms' nights out. Visit Strong Mamas for more information.
